The shortest of Shakespeare's tragedies, but one of his most complex creations, "Macbeth" emphasizes, using various techniques, including fanstastic elements, which are the disastrous consequences of irrational ambition and lust for power. The predictions of three witches, according to which the general Macbeth will become "than of Cawdor" and then king of Scotland make Macbeth dream of turning these into reality, overpassing any obstacles and resorting even to crime. The way Macbeth manages to obtain and then lose the throne of Scotland remains to be discovered in a modern production which doesn't lack the mark of the shakespearian spirit. For the creation of the performance "Macbeth", the Oradea State Theatre benefited from the cooperation with remarkable representatives of the Georgian theatrical school: the stage director Andro Enukidze and the set-designer Aivengo Celidze, who inspired a certain accent of novelty, quality and originality to the show. The performance is characterised by an atypical directoral approach, where the accent is put both on the role-play and on the eclectic, postmodern style, accentuated by an exceptional soundtrack.
