"The Seagull", that became a classical text in time, focuses on two key issues: the artistic quest and the unrequited love. The young Konstantin Treplev seeks to define his artistic orientation writing innovative, experimental and abstract plays . He organizes for a small group the representation of one of these plays giving the leading role to beautiful Nina, whom he passionately loves. Unfortunately, his love is not shared, in fact, none of the characters enjoys the feelings of love in return. Worn by ambition and love for Trigorin, the lover of Treplev's mother, Nina runs to the capital, dreaming of becoming an actress. In her figure are gathered almost all the symbolic meanings of the seagull. Her words repeated, "I am a seagull", became a key phrase of the universal drama: they talk of freedom, dreams, ideals and destruction, in a profound reflection on the uniqueness of life.
